4shared automatic activity sharing Filed under ( Others )

4shared has expanded its social media functionality. For now 4shared users may share to twitter such activities as uploading files, rating files, commenting on files, sharing a folder, etc automatically. When you perform certain action on 4shared, automatic activity will update your friends on twitter.

In order to perform utomatic activity sharing you need to:
1. Login to your account.
2. Press “Activity sharing” button at your account.

Go to Activity Sharing tab:
- select what would you like to share
- connect your twitter account
- press “Save changes”

After your account will be connected, you dont need no more to share manualy your activity to twitter. Activity sharing works only for files that have been shared. This tool is under beta testing, will be available for all users soon.

Free and Simple Security Enhancements Filed under ( Others )

Some Simple Precautions you have to take to be Safe from the Most Common Threats

* Check Windows Update and Office Update regularly; have your Office CD ready. Windows Me, 2000, and XP users can configure automatic updates. Click on the Automatic Updates tab in the System Control Panel and choose the appropriate options.

* Install a personal firewall. Both SyGate and ZoneAlarm offer free versions.

* Install a free spyware blocker. My Choice is the SpyBot Search & Destroy . SpyBot is also paranoid and ruthless in hunting out tracking cookies.

* Block pop-up spam messages in Windows NT, 2000, or XP by disabling the Windows Messenger service (this is unrelated to the instant messaging program).
Open Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services and you'll see Messenger. Right-click and go to Properties. Set Start-up Type to Disabled and press the Stop button. Buh-bye, spam pop-ups! Any good firewall will also stop them.

* Use strong passwords and change them periodically. Passwords should have at least seven characters; use letters and numbers and have at least one symbol. A decent example would be h@cKr15hN@. This will make it much harder for anyone to gain access to your accounts.

* If you're using Outlook or Outlook Express, use the current version or one with the Outlook Security Update installed. The update and current versions patch numerous vulnerabilities.

* Buy antivirus software and keep it up to date. If you're not willing to pay like me ;) try AVG Free Edition. And check your AV with the free, online-only scanners available at Panda Security and HouseCall Free Virus Scan.

* If you have a wireless network, turn on the security features: Use MAC filtering, turn off SSID broadcast, and even use WEP with the biggest key you can get.

* Be skeptical of things on the Internet. Don't assume that e-mail "From:" a particular person is actually from that person until you have further reason to believe it's that person. Lolzz.. What em I saying !! Don't assume that an attachment is what it says it is. Don't give out your password to anyone, even if that person claims to be from "support." Don't get Fooled that easily.  Hiii... Em Back Again After A long time.... This time its not a unique article..but just a helpful bit of thing. Its About Scribd ... Hmmm Well .....Scribd is a Web 2.0 based document-sharing website which allows users to post documents of various formats, and embed them into a web page using its iPaper format. Scribd was founded by Trip Adler in 2006. If you don’t know about Scribd, it is a best place to search for any e-books, Documents, presentations, etc.. on a particular topic. It has a huge database of Documents and files which are free to Print and share........ hey wait..... Why Dont you just visit the site if you want 2 know more.......

Ok... Now to the main article... its not possible to download Documents from Scribd directly. In Scribd, If the uploader has disabled the download option, you will not be able to download files for offline use and they can only be accessed online. So now How will you download locked/restricted files or documents from Scribd :( ??? Hey Cheer up friends... what em i here for... ;)

 There is A simple Virtual Printer software, by which you can create PDF files out of online data by printing the online document in PDF format. Primo PDF is one best software to do this job. It has Many other Features too... Get it Here.. Or From Its Mother Site.

After you download and Install the software, go to the document you want to download --> click on the Print option. In the resultant window, choose Primo PDF --> then click Print. Then Bang your head on your monitor...... hmmm.. Just Kidding yaar ;).... Well That’s it and you are done. You will get the file in the PDF format and you can use it as you want.

This trick is not so unique... just an hour thinking needed.... Hey and this trick can be useful for people who are not registered in Scribd and want to download files just like that. Simple Na...... Thanx..... :)
